I just bought a bucket of Savannah Gold. I don't know anyone who uses it. What do you do with it and what/ how do you exchange it in recipes?

Do you have the Savanah Gold Molasses or Honey Crystals?

In general, molasses crystals can replace brown sugar, the honey crystals can replace white sugar. I also like to put molasses crystals in muffins and pancakes. It adds such a nice flavor. The molasses crystals have a heavier flavor, so you'll want to keep that in mind when you are using it. For example, it's not great in coffee, but the honey crystals are yummy for that. The honey crystals are a perfect substitute for almost any recipe calling for white sugar. It doesn't quite do the same job as powdered sugar, although you can grind it in a coffee grinder and see how you like it in those recipes. It makes a nice glaze for cinnamon rolls and things like that. You can get a decent frosting out of it, but it will have a slightly tan color to it and may be bit too thin or runny for what you might have in mind.

I have the molasses crystals. I thought this replaced white sugar. I guess I will have to wait until the next order to get the right kind. Thanks.
