I've been trying to educate myself on coconut oil and I can't find answers to my questions. Any input is appreciated.
The most reasonably priced coconut oil available at my local store is LouAna brand, says pure but doesn't say virgin. If I'm understanding correctly, a heating process makes the oil non-virgin. So, does it matter if the oil is virgin or not if you are cooking with it (i.e. putting it in the hot oven)?
Is this cheaper coconut oil still better to use than other oils or is non-virgin coconut oil a "bad" oil?
I would also like more info on/uses for virgin coconut oil. I noticed the Beckers are selling it now. Is there anyone on staff who is familiar with this and could help us out? Thanks!
